Family, as you are, as you were.
I want to capture you cooking a big breakfast or chillin’ on the couch, watching TV, eating buttered popcorn. I want to create art, man. Art.
Sometimes I just see it and I know I need to point my camera there. I might cut off your head or just take a photo of the ground. It seems weird at the time, but it’s there, the image, I promise.
Sure, I like light and fun most of the time, but I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t have a dark side. I love the dark. The dark is mysterious and unknown, a little bit risky. I like to take a risk every now and then. Don’t you?
No doubt about it, pretty is as pretty does. It’s all in the eye of the beholder, right?
They are certifiably crazy at times, sure. But no one else can make you laugh like they do. And who else is going to dry your tears or give you a hug or a kick in the ass when you need it? Really, let’s be honest, you just like having them around.
We all need more kissing in our lives.
What’s mine is mine. What’s yours is yours.
My children are the most important thing in my life and they continue to be my greatest source of inspiration. My favorite photographs are of my own flesh and blood. I love them more than trees.
It soothes me. I have to have it in my life. I need it like I need air.
I have such an appreciation for good food and talented chefs. Food photography has quickly become my favorite.
I only pretend to cook.
You got a brand or a business? I gotchu, whatever you need. Headshots, stock photos, movie stills, billboards? Uh-huh.
I’ll never say no.
My favorite moments are not smiles and perfect poses. I like real life. Sometimes parents get so worried because their kid is cranky or has chocolate all over their face. I say who cares?! Let’s be in the moment. It is what it is, bro. Let’s not force it.
Let’s try some different angles.
Sometimes I will lie flat on the ground to get a shot I want. I might move off into the bushes somewhere or get in a closet and take a photo from the cracked door. Don’t mind me, I’m just being weird.
It’s always a challenge to get you to feel comfortable in front of my camera. When it’s achieved, you can see it and feel it. You just know you’re beautiful. And you are. You’re beautiful.
It’s all in the details. Really, what more can I say?
I don’t know about you, but my brain works better at night. My most productive hours are from midnight until 2am. No joke. And that moon? Well, it speaks to me.
